Apart from partnering many fintech firms like Adidas, Gucci Vault Warner Music Group and Ubisoft it is also working with various celebrities who include Snoop Dogg and Paris Hilton who have an impact on the adoption of [SAND, Sandbox’s native token](https://www.gate.io/blog_detail/409/the-sandbox-everything-you-need-to-know "SAND, Sandbox’s native token"), and its value.

This article explores how the celebrity Paris Hilton influenced its price surge. It also covers the collaboration between Sandbox and Hilton as well as the recently launched virtual world dating platform.

## Value of Sandbox token (SAND) Surpasses $0.50

Last week the value of SAND surged past $0.50 due to the news of the collaboration between Sandbox and Paris Hilton, a popular American celebrity. On 22 May 2022, Hilton announced that 11.11 Media had partnered with Sandbox to launch a collection of her avatars before her Los Angeles musical concert.

Paris Hilton’s announcement led to a 6% price surge of SAND, pushing it past the $0.50 level. There were also positive movements in some of SAND’s metrics such as Daily Active Addresses (DAA). On the other hand, whale accumulation increased after Hilton announced the collaboration. That development created additional impetus to the SAND bullish sentiment. Specifically, since 22 May the whales have added nearly 7 million SANDS to their crypto portfolios. The graph below shows the increase in whale balances following the partnership between Sandbox and Hilton.

Usually, whale accumulation shows a bullish momentum that exists in any given market. As seen in the above diagram, whale balances increased significantly from 24 May to the day of writing.

With the price dynamics that existed on 23 May, the market anticipated that the price of SAND would rise above $0.60. The next graph indicates SAND’s price movements since 20 May.

As observed in the diagram above, [SAND price](https://www.gate.io/price/the-sandbox-sand "SAND price") increased from 24 May onwards. It attained a value of $0.56 on 31 May before falling to $0.52 on 1 June. At the time of writing, 2 June, the price of Sandbox is $0.56.  Based on the prevailing market dynamics the Sand <a href="/price-prediction" target="_blank" class="blog_inner_link">price prediction</a> of $0.60 is likely to become a reality within the next few weeks.

## Sandbox and Paris Hilton collaboration

We have discussed how the announcement of the collaboration between Sandbox metaverse and Paris Hilton’s has resulted in the current Sand crypto price momentum. Therefore, let’s delve in detail into the nature of their partnership.

Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has partnered with 11:11 Media, Paris Hilton’s next-generation media company, to launch an avatar collection of Paris Hilton. This collection comprising 5,555 unique avatars includes eleven one-of-a-kind handcrafted NFTs. Notably, the holders of these avatars get free VIP tickets to Paris’ Live in Concert that will take place on 7 June 2023 at the iconic Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.

The avatars are also unique in several ways that should appeal to a cross section of her fans and the wider society. This collection is a true celebration of Hilton’s lifestyle and also showcases her fashion sense, her Halloween costumes and classy gowns.

In addition to her costumes, there are other accessories which include gloves and DJ headphones.  Each avatar costs 100 SANDS and is available on a first-come-first served basis due to their limited numbers. When they play the game, the avatar holders will also stand the chance to win SAND crypto.

Next, those who signed the allowlist had the chance to mint their tokens on 1 June. Finally, the general public had their chance to mint the avatars on 2 June. Nevertheless, the avatars will be unveiled on 5 June 2023.

These avatars have great significance to Hilton’s fans and associates. Generally, the collaboration between 11.11 Media and sandbox promises much to metaverse fans. Cynthia Miller, Director of web3 and metaverse at 11:11 Media commented positively on that development. The launch of this collection is not Hilton’s only adventure with blockchain projects and the metaverse. 11:11 Media has also collaborated with Sandbox to create Parisland, a metaverse dating project.

## Hilton’s Metaverse Dating Reality

As said earlier on, Sandbox and 11:11 Media have partnered to develop a virtuality dating reality. Parisland is Hilton’s metaverse project developed in the Sandbox blockchain. It is a “hybrid of an interactive TV show and a game”. Various players participate in the virtual dating reality show which Hilton hosts.

The dating adventure, which gives each participant the chance to hunt for his/her love of life, takes place on a romantic island called Parisland. Each player carries out various tasks such as finding the valuable Love Burger and wedding rings. Additionally, everyone has the opportunity to flirt with various contestants before selecting his/her real partner.

The first session of the dating reality show took place from 13 February to 13 March 2023 and it was a one-of-a-time-event that occurred in the Sandbox metaverse. The adventures came to an end with a spectacular wedding where Hilton served as the DJ for the couple.

According to Sebastien Borget the aim of this experience is to create and nurture genuine relationships among players. In fact, Hilton wants people to find love via Parisland
