About Solana (SOL)SOL is Solana's native token, which can be used for transfer, transaction, value storage, payment of blockchain usage fees, etc. Solana's initial concept and framework were conceived in 2017, and the token was officially issued in 2020. Its goal is to create a distributed, trust free protocol that can rapidly increase the system's information processing capacity. Solana uses the PoS and PoH double consensus mechanism to run the network, aiming to solve the time problem in the distributed network. This innovative mixed consensus mechanism model has attracted considerable attention since SOL was launched.
How does Solana (SOL)Work?
Solana operates the blockchain network using the double consensus mechanism of proof of stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and proof of history (PoH) consensus mechanism. The proof of stake (PoS) consensus mechanism enables about every 4 blocks in Solana network to randomly select a lead validator according to the number of SOL staked by the nodes. The lead validator writes the new transaction records into the blockchain, and the other nodes validate whether the records are correct. The proof of history (PoH) consensus mechanism establishes a time sequencing structure for each transaction record on the Solana blockchain, so that each node seems to have a common set of clocks on the chain, and can continue to work without waiting for other nodes to broadcast, while ensuring the correctness of transaction sequencing.

The total circulation of SOL is 500 million, which is the only token on Solana. In addition to staking SOL to become a validator of Solana network, users can also trust SOL to trusted validators. As an agent, validators can earn rewards by operating and maintaining the Solana network.
