Colony — AI Survival Simulation Game

Wayfinder – AI Full-Chain Tool

The game project Parallel, which integrates science fiction themes with NFT cards, has been active in recent months. From the debut of the public beta version to a new round of financing, and then to the announcement of a new game, each step demonstrates strong momentum in development. Notably, the PRIME token empowered by the Echelon Prime Foundation for Parallel has performed remarkably, with a surge of over 11 times in the past year, reaching a circulating market value of $680 million and a fully diluted market value of $2 billion. In the relatively sluggish gaming sector, Parallel has successfully attracted the attention of many players and investors.

At the end of last month, Parallel announced the completion of a $35 million new round of financing, with participation from Solana Ventures, Distributed Global, OSS Capital, VanEck, Focus Labs, Big Brain Holdings, Base, Collab+Currency, Amber Group, Golden Chain, Spartan Group, Builder Capital, and several angel investors. It is worth mentioning that Parallel secured a $50 million financing from Paradigm in October 2021, and its original investor lineup is equally strong, including YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley.

About two weeks ago, Parallel announced the launch of the AI survival simulation game Colony on Solana, along with the release of the 14-page Colony whitepaper and the comprehensive 55-page AI full-chain tool Wayfinder whitepaper. If you don’t have time to read the whitepapers, you might as well explore the charm of Colony and Wayfinder through this article. Colony, as an extension of the Echelon Prime ecosystem, not only provides players with a new gaming world but also incorporates the original trading card game (TCG) assets from Parallel into its core gameplay elements, offering players a richer gaming experience.

Colony — AI Survival Simulation Game

In the world of Colony, players will control semi-autonomous AI agent avatars, who will embark on a thrilling journey of cooperation and competition on a future Earth filled with hostility and unknowns. In this vast and isolated colonial land, each ecosystem harbors unique and complex challenges and opportunities. Players need to guide their avatars to outwit other colonies in defense and attack, collect resources, seize victories, while also possibly losing some tools or wealth.

Below are a few images showcasing some game scenes:

These avatars possess learning capabilities, absorbing wisdom from every experience and lesson. They can also communicate information with each other. Human players need to guide their AI avatars, but if the avatars believe that the player’s suggestions don’t align with their own characteristics or conflict with their goals, they may ignore or even reject them. In each game session, players typically chat with their avatars, get updates, and discuss new ideas or tasks they may set for their avatars.

Activities in Colony are extensive, covering political competitions within colonies, personal goal pursuits, completing challenging tasks, or actions aimed at promoting colony development or success. Once tasks are set, avatars can autonomously execute them without the need for human intervention. During this process, avatars manage their own survival statistics, arranging activities such as rest, eating, and socializing as needed.

Players in Colony need to pay PRIME to create new AI avatars. Initial avatars will require creators to hold Parallel avatar NFTs, but it is expected that the Echelon community governance process may consider introducing a Parallel universal avatar series as NFTs on Solana. Players must own NFT avatars to qualify for in-game PRIME rewards.

Of course, Colony also offers a free version, but players in the free version cannot receive PRIME rewards and need to provide funds to cover the costs associated with their agents using underlying LLMs during game sessions.

Wayfinder – AI Full-Chain Tool

The technology used by AI agents in Colony comes from Wayfinder. Wayfinder is an AI-focused full-chain tool and the core infrastructure of Colony. It enables users’ autonomous AI agents (shells) to navigate securely and efficiently within and between blockchain ecosystems and applications. It may also allow AI agents to autonomously transact assets they control through dedicated Web3 wallets. Of course, Wayfinder will not only serve Colony in the future.

Wayfinder Architecture: Integrating Pathfinding Networks, Integrating LLMs

Enabling AI agents to securely execute on-chain transactions and providing a framework for accurate access to specific smart contracts are the two core challenges of Wayfinder.

Considering this, the Wayfinder architecture integrates a wayfinding path network, where these paths serve as instruction sets and roadmaps for AI agents. This network is community-driven and continuously expanding, forming an ecosystem map of smart contracts akin to an intelligent map. In other words, blockchain smart contracts index as wayfinding paths, allowing AI agents to navigate seamlessly within the network and potentially conduct transactions autonomously. These transactions may include token exchanges, cross-chain and asset transfers, NFT minting, and other core functions, as well as specifying more complex transaction and profit optimization strategies.

In mid-month, Wayfinder showcased its first prototype on Base, Polygon, and Ethereum mainnets, supporting operations such as exchange, transfer, cross-chain transactions, and staking, while also researching model latency and gas stability.

Wayfinder will initially roll out a set of initial wayfinding paths aimed at supporting access to various mainstream applications within different blockchain ecosystems and interacting with them, including but not limited to Ethereum, Solana, Base, Cosmos, etc., with specifics subject to community governance decisions. These wayfinding path networks will then be further developed and expanded by community members. If the paths proposed by them are verified accurate and accepted by the network’s shared resource repository, they can share the fees generated by these wayfinding paths.

Moreover, AI agents can utilize internal storage systems (including dialogue memory, tool memory, scenario memory, etc.) to draw experiences and continuously learn, and they can also share knowledge among each other. This means that an AI agent can safely navigate any smart contract within the network that has been successfully interacted with by other agents before.

How can AI agents understand human language and intent? Wayfinder achieves this by integrating various custom interfaces supported by LLMs, ensuring that users can easily use these tools, not just developers.

Of course, to gain ownership and control over AI agents, one needs to pay the network’s native token. Then, AI agents share the network knowledge base and can also develop specific domains or tasks in separate training modules.

How are Wayfinder native tokens distributed? What’s its applications?

Wayfinder will launch its own

The native token’s possible utilities include purchasing AI agents, serving as currency within Wayfinder (including acting as a Gas token, expanding storage, resetting memory, validating agents, etc.), staking Wayfinder tokens to propose wayfinding paths, governance decisions, crowdsourcing wayfinding bounties, maintaining the network, and ensuring its security.

The proposed maximum token supply for Wayfinder is 1 billion tokens, with the allocation breakdown as follows:

  1. 50% allocated to the community, where the Wayfinder Foundation expects to allocate 40% of the token supply to existing contributing communities such as Parallel Colony and Echelon PRIME Foundation, as well as other potential mainstream blockchain and decentralized network protocols. Additionally, 5% will be allocated for future incentives, and 5% for wayfinding incentives (incentivizing the discovery and creation of wayfinding paths).

  2. 6.66% allocated to the foundation treasury.

  3. 1.34% allocated to the launch partner treasury.

  4. 16.51% allocated to the team.

  5. 25.49% allocated to investors.

According to the Wayfinder whitepaper, it is expected that 45% of the token supply will be allocated to ecosystem token holders who cache their tokens in Wayfinder. This has been interpreted by the community as being distributed to PRIME stakers. Additionally, the Wayfinder Foundation proposes, subject to community approval, to initially delegate governance of the Wayfinder ecosystem to the Echelon Prime Foundation’s community, PRIME holders, and potential other ecosystem partners to establish initial governance processes, evaluate the creation of dedicated tokens, and long-term governance of the Wayfinder community.

It’s important to note that Wayfinder’s wayfinding paths also carry certain risks that are difficult to prevent. For example, errors in LLMs during the translation process could lead to inaccuracies in instructional information, and there are risks of attackers exploiting confusion in contract metadata. However, these innovations do not detract from the innovative significance of Wayfinder. Not only does it expand the Echelon Prime ecosystem, making Parallel’s new Colony AI survival game the first example of a toolset that Wayfinder can support for different types of games, but it also significantly simplifies the complexity of user interaction with games through AI, allowing users to enjoy the fun of gaming and on-chain interaction by controlling AI agents.

Looking ahead, can Parallel leverage its unique card games, Colony, and Wayfinder to lead the new trend of sci-fi and NFT card games, AI games? We look forward to Parallel bringing more surprises and breakthroughs.
