    • About BitTorrent (BTT)

      BitTorrent is a content distribution protocol independently developed by Bram Cohen in 2001. Its emergence has greatly improved the file download efficiency of Internet users and brought users a better use experience, that is, it can ensure the effective improvement of upload speed and download speed through certain strategies. In a short time, BitTorrent protocol has become a new innovation technology.

      BitTorrent uses an efficient software distribution system and peer-to-peer technology to share large volumes of files (such as a movie or TV program), while enabling each user to provide upload services like a network redistribution node. BitTorrent has made a major innovation in this regard: the distributor or file holder sends the file to one of the users, and then the user forwards it to other users, so that users can forward their own file parts to each other until each user's download is completed.       How does BTT Work?

      BitTorrent protocol is a P2P file transfer protocol based on the TCP/IP protocol, which is in the application layer of TCP/IP structure. BitTorrent itself also covers many specific content protocols and extension protocols, and is still in a stage of continuous expansion and improvement.

      BitTorrent can solve the problem of slow download efficiency. By using different content files in each user's hands, it can split the upload and download process by uploading its own file data and downloading the file data of other users, until the complete file is downloaded. In this way, the file source can well cope with the situation of a large number of users downloading, while only bringing a moderate increase in load.

      BitTorrent protocol will support the virtual division of downloaded files into blocks of the same size. Meanwhile, the index information and hash captcha of each block will also be written .torrent file (i.e. seed file, also referred to as "seed") is used as the "index" of the downloaded file. In this way, when users download file content, they first need to get the corresponding .torrent file, and then download it through BT client software.

      In the process of downloading, the BT client will parse the .torrent file to obtain the Tracker address, and then connect with the Tracker server. After receiving the "signal", the Tracker server will respond to the download request sent by the user and provide it with the IP of other downloaders (including publishers), this is only method 1. The BT client can also parse the .torrent file to obtain the nodes routing table, and then connect the valid nodes in the routing table. The network nodes provide the IP addresses of other downloaders to users who need to download.

      The downloader can now connect to other downloaders through the .torrent file, both parties respectively inform each other of their existing blocks, and then exchange data that the other party does not have. In the whole operation process, there is no need for other servers or other network nodes to participate, which effectively relieves the data traffic on a single line, thus reducing the burden on the server.

      Every time the downloader obtains a block, it needs to calculate the comparison between the hash captcha of the downloaded block and the .torrent file. If they are the same, the block is correct. Otherwise, the downloader needs to download the block again.
      In this way, the more users download, the more bandwidth will be provided, the more seeds will be available, and the faster the download speed will be.
