How to Open, Reduce or Close a Position?

# Open Position
Note: One-way / Hedge mode are in the same way.

You can choose "Limit" or "Market" when placing a contract order. When the market price is predicted to rise, place an order to buy a long position, otherwise, place an order to sell a short position.

## Web Version
### Limit Order

Steps:
1. Click to select cross/isolated margin mode and set a suitable leverage.
2. Input the order price manually or click the price in the "Orderbook" on the left to fill it directly.
3. Input the order amount.
4. Select "BUY(LONG)" or "SELL(SHORT)".
5. Click the "Confirm" to place an order after confirming the information is correct.

If the order is not filled immediately or is not fully filled, you can view it in "Open Orders“.
Click ① if you want to cancel the order, and click ② if you want to modify the order price and quantity.

After an order is filled, you can view it in "Positions", and the margin can be adjusted here in isolated mode ( in cross mode, the entire balance of the futures account is used as margin) .

**Note: Margin adjustment will result in a new calculation of the closing price, so please note the risk of closing.**

### Market Order

Steps:

# Reduce Position
## Web Version
### One-Way Mode

1. A position can be reduced by creating a new order in the opposite side with the same trading pair, and after being filled:

> ① If the amount of the inverse position is less than the original position, which means "reduce position", you can view the "position reduction profit/loss" in Order History.

> ② If the amount of the inverse position is equal to the original position, which means "close position", you can not view the existing details directly in Closed History.

> ③ If the amount of the inverse position is greater than the original position, you will hold the position with the opposite side.

2.Direct reduction in position tab

Steps: Select limit/market in Positions. If you select "Limit", both order price and amount are required. If you select "Market", just need to set the amount and confirm, then you can quickly reduce the position.

When inputting the amount to be reduced, you can either enter it or select "25%, 50%, 75%" below.

### Hedge Mode

In hedge mode, you can reduce position in Position Tab or Order Zone, and the steps in position tab are the same as one-way mode. If you want to reduce position in the order zone, click "Close“ and select Limit or Market.

Similarly, if you select "Limit", both order price and amount are required. If you select "Market", just need to set the amount and confirm, then you can quickly reduce the position.

**Notice:**
1. Since the position in hedge mode will only be long or short and will not be reversed. the option "Reduce-Only" has been removed from the order zone. Accordingly, "Long" and "Short" become "Open Long", "Close Long", "Open Short" and "Close short". Please pay attention to the order side when you want to reduce or close the position.
2. If the amount you want to reduce is larger than the current position amount, only the current amount will be successfully reduced. And if you want to open a reverse position after closing the position, you need to open a new reverse position.

The estimated result is for reference only. The market depth changes all the time and great deviation may occur. Please use market order to close positions with caution.

If the order is not filled immediately, it will be displayed in the "Open Orders", and you can see "Reduce-Only" in Remarks. You can click “Cancel" to cancel the order.

In the web version, you can see the “Close All" button on the right side of the position tab, and a prompt as shown will appear when you click it. After confirming, all orders will be canceled and closed at the market price immediately.

**Notice:**
If you click "Close All" in the USDT-M market, then the contracts in the BTC-M and USD-M market will not be affected. If you want to close all positions in the USDT-M, BTC-M and USD-M market, please click "Close All" on the corresponding trading page separately.
