Characterized by high decentralization and asset safety, GateChain has been performing outstandingly as a high-performance infrastructure for smart contract and DeFi applications.

Shortly after its mainnet launch on June 8th, 2020, GateChain’s PoS mining program was released, allowing everyone to build nodes and participate in PoS mining on GateChain. Showcasing innovative safety features (missing private key recovery and asset theft protection), GateChain’s mainnet achieves a processing capacity of over 2000 TPS (transactions per second).In other words, it can process up to 0.17 billion transactions per day. GateChain is a highly decentralized chain, supporting thousands of consensus nodes, allowing anyone to participate in PoS mining as a super node or by delegating their GT to a super node. It uses algorithms that can prevent risks posed by quantum computing of Grover and Shor algorithms, and factors in a node loyalty coefficient to further enhance the PoS safety. Within its incentive mechanism, GateChain innovates so as to effectively enhance the degree of decentralization.

Since the launch of the GateChain mainnet, we have been continuously upgrading the mainnet protocol. As our development work has progressed quickly, we are regularly releasing the development update to keep you posted. Currently, our focus has been on cross-chain, smart contracts, and DeFi. Below you can find what we have been working on as of late:


1. GateChain-EVM

1.1 Contract type transaction query in gatechain and message deserialization-- Finished.
1.2 Refactoring and debugging EVM parts that are interacting with DB—Finished.
1.3 Joint debugging on raw message interface and other interfaces---Finished.
1.4 Design changes to message structure in Gatemint and the potential impact on the existing data analysis--Finished.
1.5 Contract deployment on the GT address--Finished
1.6 The GT address conversion--Finished
1.7 Signing and broadcasting data on the deployed contract by the GT account-Finished
1.8 Debugging Send interface’s compatibility--Finished
1.9 Processing transaction hash address format on local device--Finished

2. Cross-Chain

2.1 Improved the cross-chain contract. The contract functionalities have been tested and will be joint debugged with the chain layer later.
2.2 Cross-chain validator is open
2.2.1 Finished contract events listening and log unpacking.
2.2.2 Finished a smart contract call method that uses a developer’s package as a reference to call the smart contract
2.2.3. Changing smart contract call to public class for the convenience of later usage on GT--- under development.

3. Relay Chain Development

3.1 Conducted joint debugging on statement interfaces
3.2 Conducted joint debugging on conformation interfaces, including message query interface and signature query interface
3.3 Finished the development of the main process of cross-chain sending.
3.4 Staking module is still under development
3.5 Made adjustment to how to handle Token in cross-chain transaction
3.6 Added Gatechain clients to the Listen module

4. GateChain Cross-Chain Staking Development
4.1 Improved the logic of how to handle cross-chain staking message
4.2 Added cross-chain unstaking message
4.3 Solved problems with regard to cross-chain staking permissions

5. Gatemint-SDK Testing
5.1 Conducted testing on local deployment of a single node using the Gatemint-sdk
5.2 The CLI passed the first round testing. As we have made a few minor changes on the CLI, we will conduct a test again later.
5.3 Gatemint-sdk documentations are under editing and modifying.
