Kava KAVA is the MINT token that will serve as the governance token of the Kava Mint CDP protocol, and it is used to ensure network security and governance voting. It is also a token issued by Kava, a decentralized financial services platform.
Kava is a cross-platform DeFi that provides mainstream digital currency mortgage services, as well as leveraged lending services and stable currency services. KAVA is the governance and staking token responsible for network security and voting on key parameters. It aims to become a realistic DeFi platform by providing a decentralized lending platform and stablecoins compatible with major crypto assets.
All transaction fees on the Kava platform are paid in Kava tokens, including the transfer of pegged assets (such as pXRP tokens) to other users, the transfer of pXRP to other blocks in Kava, the redemption of USDX from the CDP staking platform, closing a CDP mortgage platform, transferring USDX between users, etc.
Kava's default model is to calculate a single commission rate based on the block reward, which is the same as the transaction fee. If the community wants to change this setting for a more reasonable token commission ratio in the future, it can also be selected by voting. This allows node validators to flexibly charge commission rates in block rewards paid in Kava tokens and USDX; it can also charge transactions on other supported pledged assets or anchored assets, such as pXRP commission for handling fees.
How Kava KAVA Works
Kava is built on the Cosmos SDK and runs on a Tendermint-based Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. On the application side, Kava has created two applications, the lending platform CDP and the cross-chain currency market HARDProtocol, providing stable coins, loans and interest-bearing accounts. Therefore, it allows users to use digital assets to obtain more usage scenarios and value.
This upgraded PoS consensus mechanism leverages the Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus engine. Impressively, this mechanism is more energy-efficient than earlier blockchains like Bitcoin or Ethereum. In many ways, the network is similar to MakerDAO, but the former integrates CDP. However, Kava makes better use of Cosmos' zones to add access to cryptocurrencies running on separate networks
The Kava ecosystem has three tokens, KAVA token, USDX stablecoin and HARD token, of which KAVA token is the native token of the Kava blockchain and is indispensable in the security, governance and mechanical functions of the platform. Users can pledge their crypto assets in exchange for Kava's USDX. HARD token is the governance token of HARD Protocol, which is used to incentivize early participants to participate in the continuous growth and management of the product.

This strategy allows developers and users to maximize their functionality without affecting any area. The two tokens that are critical to Kava are USDX and KAVA.
Stake Assets: Stakers in the network also have some responsibilities. In addition to securing the blockchain, these users can further mortgage their assets using the bonding curve of network validators. Malicious nodes may lose their Kava. Failure to ensure high uptime and double-signature transactions will definitely get you removed from this network. Kava is known for its zero tolerance for malicious nodes.
