10-Minute & 30-Minute Short-term Options are now available on Gate.io. Simulation trading of Short-term (within 10 minutes/30 minutes/1 hour/4 hours/1 day) Call and Put Options is also supported, with a 0.04% fee. Currently, the maximum buying amount is 100 USDT (will increase in the upcoming days). After our App upgrade next week, the feature will be available for Android users as well. Please stay tuned!

How to trade options

Users can go to the home page of Gate.io, head over to ‘Derivatives’ under the navigation bar, and click ‘Short-term Options’ under ‘Derivatives’

The BTC/USDT options trading is currently only available on Web; Android users will get access to this feature next week, after our App upgrade.

Options

Options are financial instruments that are derivatives based on the value of the underlying assets. An options contract offers the buyer the opportunity to buy or sell, depending on the type of contract they hold, the underlying asset. Each option contract will have a specific expiration date by which the holder must exercise his option. The stated price on an option is known as the strike price. Unlike futures, the holder of the option contract is not required to buy or sell the asset.
