Dan: Hello Guys, welcome to join the event again. Today's topic is about Future Transaction Fee.

Jane: Hello@Dan, nice to see you here again. I really would like to know more.

Dan: Ok, let's get it started.

Jane: Thanks, here you go!

Q: Please tell me what are Maker and Taker.

A: "Maker" is the person who creates the initial BUY or SELL order, which is located on the "Purchase/Sell" ( Orderbook).

"Taker" is someone who BUY or SELL orders on "Purchase/Sell" ( Orderbook).

A Maker makes order and a Taker takes order.

For example, you buy 1 BTC for USD 30,000, after 1 minute someone sells your 1 BTC for USD 30,000, meaning your order has been matched. During the trade, there're the certain fees occured, the fee of the person selling it to you are Fees of Taker, and Maker usually share the fees from Taker.

Q: Please tell me what is this Fee from above example?

A : We name it Future Transaction Fee, somebody call it Maker-Taker fees, also known as payment for order flow, provides liquidity providers with rebates for participating in markets.

From the example above, you can see there're the fees from Taker to Maker.

Q: Now please tell me how to calculate Future Transaction Fee? I believe this is the point of our USERS are really longing to know.

A: Good question, please see below chart about Future Transaction Fee of Gate.io.

We have total 16 levels of VIP, from level 1-16, Maker fee is the same. From level 11-16, there are different Maker fees according to 30-Day Volume.

Q: Why Maker fee of VIP users in the chart all in minus?

A: Because Gate.io are encouraging users to trade and promote the liquidity of the market.

Makers are dedicating the orders into the pool to stimulate the the trade volume.

Q: If there's anything else to attract USERS besides above minus Maker fees?

A: We selected some exchanges to compare the fees as below chart:

1.Gate.io's 30-Day Volume have very low threshold. This is the key point to attract personal users, instead of the big business entities.

2.Only Bybit and Gate.io provide minus Maker fees, and Gate.io is half fees of Bybit.

3.Our Taker fees are not the highest one also not the lowest one, we can say it is the average of the market level.

Q: From the chart we can see Gate.io provide attractive fees for both Maker and Taker.

A: Yes, you are right, and let's brief above in short.

1.Maker is a trader who creates orders and waits for them to be executed, while Taker is the one who fills other people's orders to be executed. The key point is that Maker is the liquidity maker.

2.For exchanges, Maker is critical to the attractiveness of the platform as a trading platform. In general, exchanges reward Maker with lower fees due to their liquidity. Taker, on the other hand, takes advantage of this liquidity to easily buy or sell assets while paying higher fees.

Q: Thanks for all, let's get to Question Session.
