Characterized by high decentralization and asset safety, GateChain has been performing outstandingly as a high-performance infrastructure for smart contract and DeFi applications.

Shortly after its mainnet launch on June 8th, 2020, GateChain’s PoS mining program was released, allowing everyone to build nodes and participate in PoS mining on GateChain. Showcasing innovative safety features (missing private key recovery and asset theft protection), GateChain’s mainnet achieves a processing capacity of over 2000 TPS (transactions per second).In other words, it can process up to 0.17 billion transactions per day. GateChain is a highly decentralized chain, supporting thousands of consensus nodes, allowing anyone to participate in PoS mining as a super node or by delegating their GT to a super node. It uses algorithms that can prevent risks posed by quantum computing of Grover and Shor algorithms, and factors in a node loyalty coefficient to further enhance the PoS safety. Within its incentive mechanism, GateChain innovates so as to effectively enhance the degree of decentralization.

Since the launch of the GateChain mainnet, we have been continuously upgrading the mainnet protocol. As our development work has progressed quickly, we are regularly releasing the development update to keep you posted. Currently, our focus has been on cross-chain, smart contracts, and DeFi. Below you can find what we have been working on as of late:

1. GateChain-EVM

1.1 Conducted data structure expansion of gatemint transaction ex-ecution results on the consensus layer and corresponding data loading in the business module on the application layer to match contract ex-ecution result in EVM.
1.2 Implemented interfaces for cross-chain queries, using 32-byte transaction hash (0x...) as key.
1.3 Localized the Cross-chain DB interfaces
1.4 Allowing for transaction interpretation and status updating per contract using a customized contract address and hash format.

2. Cross-Chain
2.1 Adjusted cross-chain events logic, and added the “auth”attribute to the“provider”.
2.2 Added GateChain Events to monitor the latest block on the GateChain
2.3 Almost completed the development of the cross-chain staking module.
2.4 Completed Validator’s messaging logic
2.5 Added weight changes interfaces to Validators
2.6 Completed “delegate” functionalities
2.7 Completed “ undelegate ”functionalities
2.8 Normal account can send a saking transaction and then make the address a Validator.
2.9 Block up staking related functionalities on the Peggy Chain.

3. Prepare to develop cross-chain monitor & joint debug
3.1 Mapped the RPC to Restful API, and started to develop Restful API for the monitor.
3.2 Continued improving monitor module (gatechain part)
3.3 Completed message signature
3.4 Completed transaction broadcasting and blockchain status queries.
3.5 Added queries to cross-chain validators

4. GateChain framework/cross-chain module
4.1 Added command-line queries to validators
4.2 Added rest and rpc routes and processing logic

5. Gatemint-SDK Testing
5.1 Gatemint-sdk doc is being edited and modified.
