> You haven't activated futures accounts yet

Please register a futures account first.
> No matching counterparty orders

You need to wait for a pending order to be filled.
>  Contract not found

Please check for input errors.
> The request path doesn’t exist

> Placing the order will make your position exceeding risk limit

Decrease risk limit in the upper right corner.

> Insufficient balance

You need to transfer funds or deposit. For more details, please refer to [How to check and transfer the contract account balance?](https://www.gate.io/help/futures/futures_operation_tutorial/22086/how-to-check-and-transfer-the-contract-account-balance "How to check and transfer the contract account balance?")
> The operation might incur liquidation

Be cautious. You can decrease the leverage in the upper right corner or reduce the order amount.

> The leverage is too high

Decrease the leverage in the upper right corner.
> The leverage is too low

Increase the leverage in the upper riight corner.
> Order doesn’t exist

Refresh the page and check again.
> Order finished

You can view it in the "Order History" of the positions tab.
> Too many pending orders

You need to wait for partial orders to be filled.
> Margin update is not allowed under cross margin mode

In cross margin mode, you cannot adjust the leverage manually, which is related to margin, position value and unrealized PNL. For more details, please refer to [Isolated Margin & Cross Margin](https://www.gate.io/help/futures/futures_logic/22080/isolated-margin-cross-margin "Isolated Margin & Cross Margin").

> The position is in liquidation

It is not allowed to place a closing order without holding a position. Please hold a position first.
> Margin exceeds the adjustable range

> The risk limit doesn't adjust according to the step

> Exceed the maximum risk limit

Adjust the risk limit by referring to the "Max Risk Limit" on the [Contract Details ](https://www.gate.io/testnet/futures_info_new/futures/usdt/BTC_USDT#baseinfo "Contract Details ")page.
> Risk limit is too low

Adjust the risk limit by referring to the "Base Risk Limit" on the [Contract Details](https://www.gate.io/testnet/futures_info_new/futures/usdt/BTC_USDT#baseinfo "Contract Details") page.
> Order price deviates from the mark price too much

Close the gap between the order price and mark price, and you can view the mark price at the top of the futures trading page.

> The order quantity exceeds the upper limit

Reduce the order amount.
> The order quantity is below the lower limit

Increase the order amount.
> When adding your position, the average entry price should not exceed the liquidation price

The liquidation will be triggered when the mark price reaches liquidation price. For more details, please refer to [Liquidation Price & Bankruptcy Price](https://www.gate.io/help/futures/futures/27724/liquidation-price-bankruptcy-price "Liquidation Price & Bankruptcy Price").
> When reducing your position, the average entry price should not exceed the liquidation price

The bankruptcy price is calculated based on the position margin with only the Taker fee remaining. For more details, please refer to [Liquidation Price & Bankruptcy Price](https://www.gate.io/help/futures/futures/27724/liquidation-price-bankruptcy-price "Liquidation Price & Bankruptcy Price").

> The Post-Only order will be filled immediately

Post-Only order is an order filled as maker only, canceled if the order can be filed as taker.
> The Reduce-Only order will lead to increased position

You marked this order with Reduce-Only, but the current order will cause the position to increase, so the order filled to be placed.
> The future market is in a transition period before going offline where only reduce-only or close orders are allowed

Please check "Reduce-Only" when placing an order, or placing a close order in hedging mode.
