According to the Ethereum announcement, the London upgrade will go live on Block 12 965 000, which is expected to happen on August 5th， about 12:00 PM UTC.
Gate.io will suspend deposits and withdrawals for ETH and ERC20 tokens before the hard fork time, and resume deposits and withdrawal the earlier time possible after the upgrade.
It is unknown if this hardfork would result in chain split and new tokens. If there are new tokens generated, gate.io will distribute them based on users’ ETH balance snapshot on the hour approximating to block 12,965,000 .
In the case the new tokens are generated, the ETH borrowers would have to repay the new tokens generated as well for their outstanding ETH loan at the snapshot time. If you don’t want to handle the possible new tokens repayment, please repay your ETH loan beforehand.
If your ETH are already on Gate.io, you don’t have to do anything in particular; if you want gate.io to handle the upgrade for you, please deposit ETH to gate.io before the hard fork time.
