Recently, we have received feedback from a number of users that some law-breakers are impersonating official Gate.io staff and entrapping users via phone, email, or Twitter. They may mention the following when communicating with you: "This is the platform center for risk assessment. Your account is at risk", "You need to cooperate to limit your account from risk", "You need to download Cloud Vision for video authentication ", "You need to provide your email address so that we can send a link to your email to eliminate the risk" and so on. They use these words to induce users to complete the transfer of funds and other operations.
Gate.io would like to remind all users that such calls are fraudulent and should not be trusted. Gate.io officials and its staff will not ask for your account password, SMS verification code, email address or other information of any form. You will also not be asked to download any apps, transfer in private or withdraw coins.
We ask all users to be vigilant, wary of the fraudulence, and to keep their account password and other information as safe as possible. You are also advised not to click on any unknown links, or disclose any other security information such as verification codes.
