Gate.io Is Calling YAM Holders to Vote for YAM Bug-Fix Proposal
According to Yam Finance's official statement (learn more details via https://medium.com/@yamfinance/save-yam-245598d81cec), a bug was found in the rebasing function that mints too much YAM to the reserves. Yam Finance is now calling YAM holders to vote for a bug-fix proposal. The proposal has to be passed before 7:00 AM GMT, August 13th to 8:00 AM GMT, August 13th, or it will be impossible for any proposals to reach consensus as so many YAM will be held in the reserve after the second rebase.
Currently, there is only three hours left for the vote, and the votes are not sufficient enough for the approval of the proposal. Yam Finance is asking Gate.io for help, and we are now calling on YAM holders to vote for this bug-fix proposal via https://yam.finance/.
Gate.io users who don't intend to participate in this vote should submit a ticket to inform us via Help Center (https://www.gate.io/help) by 06:00 AM GMT August 13th, 2020. After receiving the request, we will exclude you from the vote. Once the users participate in the vote, the YAM will be locked for three days, during which users are not able to withdraw the assets (not affecting the trade). According to YAM’s official Twitter, they will consider rewarding the voters afterwards. Gate.io will also follow the rewards and compensation scheme, but users who forego the vote will be ruled out of the scheme.
