Gate.io has recently upgraded the security of APIKey so as to ensure the safe use of APIKey. If your API V4Key has not been bound to the IP whitelist, please bind it as soon as possible within the validity period to avoid inconvenience to your subsequent use. Detailed upgrade information is as follows:
From August 22, 2022,
1. API V4Key that is not bound to the IP whitelist has a 90 day validity period.
2. The APIKey will be automatically disabled after expiration, but it can be used again after binding the IP whitelist.
3. The APIKey system that has not been logged in for more than 90 days will be deleted automatically
I. Existing APIKey
From August 22, Gate.io will set a 90-day validity period (from August 22 to 00:00 on November 19) for all existing APIKeys that are not bound to the IP whitelist. The APIKey will be automatically disabled after expiration, but it can be used again after binding the IP whitelist.
II. Newly-built APIKey
The newly-built APIKey after August 22 also has a 90-day validity period. The APIKey will be automatically disabled after expiration, but it can be used again after binding the IP whitelist.
III. Delete the IP address after creating the APIKey
If the IP address used when you create the APIKey is deleted later, the system will count down the 90-day validity period according to the creation time of APIKey. The APIKey will be automatically disabled after expiration, but it can be used again after binding the IP whitelist.
IV. Idle APIKey
If you have not logged in for more than 90 days to operate, the system will automatically delete the expired APIKey whether it is bound to the IP whitelist or not.
*In the above four cases, Gate.io will send a prompt message when it is about to expire. Please keep an eye on your mailbox.

Solutions to Four Related Cases
I. Existing APIKey
